Build a HubSpot App!

HubSpot Hackathon2 is for developers who want to learn about and build apps on top of the HubSpot Platform, APIs and Marketplace.  We've made a lot of progress since the last Hackathon, and there's great opportunity to build a marketing app on top of HubSpot.  All are welcome to attend, even if you're not a developer, you're welcome to come by and participate.

Location

HubSpot Hackathon2 will be held at the HubSpot main offices in Cambridge.   HubSpot's offices are located at 25 First St. in Cambridge, MA.  If you're taking the T, it's right near the Lechmere T top on the green line.

Format

Barcamp style. This means that the beginning of the Hackathon will be for people to put up ideas on the board in the common area for people to work on.  You don't have to build an app based on one of these ideas, but they are a good start if you need some help thinking of an app.

We also encourage attendees to group together and work on apps in small groups.  There will be a group of HubSpot developers attending as well that will join groups, help other developers and talk about ideas for apps.

Prizes

As a part of the Hackathon, we'll be giving out prizes.  For this event, we're really going to try to focus on getting apps done and installed in the marketplace. We're going to consider awarding apps that go live at the Hackathon (any apps that go live at the event will get T-Shirts), or within 24 hours of the event.  We'll then wait 15 days to see which of these apps get the most amount of installs in the HubSpot Marketplace and give awards to the top two apps.  

The two apps that gets the most installs will be awarded the grand prizes, which are as follows:

• Dinner for your team with Dharmesh Shah (CTO, Co-founder of HubSpot, Angel Investor) and Yoav Shapira (VP Platform Strategy at HubSpot) to talk about your app or startup at a Boston area restaurant.
• 4 hours of collaboration, design and development work from the HubSpot Platform and Marketplace team.  You'll be invited to spend the afternoon at HubSpot, working with the development team members on your app, startup, or whatever you'd like.

Come hungry!  We'll be providing food and drinks (soda, coffee and beer) for all who attend.
